Once upon a time, several decades ago, I appeared for Intermediate Level Drawing Exam. To prepare for this exam, I joined a drawing class. Actually, I had no specific motive for doing so, but I enjoyed the process and was motivated, rather proud of myself, by the grade I got in the exam - B!
Now, post retirement, I have the freedom to do what I want to do. So I took up drawing and painting again as a hobby.
Over a period of time, I had collected some material, like handmade paper pad, water colour pencils, poster colours,, sketch pens, brushes, colour palette, a few books etc. So I must have had this in my mind, in the background, all along.
I bought some brush pens and searched for "flowers using brush pens" on the internet. I came across videos by Shayda Campbell
Watching videos by Shayda Campbell inspired me to draw these simple floral doodles.
I have a book published by a museum in Munich, Germany, meant for school children. It contains, among other things, colour plates with landscape paintings by old masters. I tried to copy some. Here is a sample.
I am fully aware that nothing of the above is really original, but I assert that I thoroughly enjoyed the process, and gradually improved my skills.
I have now found a drawing teacher, who is now guiding me and helping me improve my skills.
